You’re at a networking event, or maybe just casually chatting at a party, when someone drops the conversational bomb: “I didn’t know you did that!” It’s as if you’ve just revealed you moonlight as a barista. Suddenly, you find yourself in the spotlight, the unsuspecting star of a reality show no one signed up for.

Then there’s the work scenario. You’re in a meeting, and you casually fix a glitch in the presentation. Someone inevitably exclaims, “I didn’t know you knew how to do that!” Yes, Kristen, I can click ‘restart’ on the computer. It’s called survival skills in the digital age, not Hogwart’s-level sorcery.

The Promotional Product Surprise: “I Didn’t Know Your Printing Company Offered That!”

It was a day like any other at MEDiAHEAD. The hum of printers filled the air, the scent of fresh ink was our version of aromatherapy, and stacks of beautifully printed brochures were scattered like confetti. Then, out of nowhere, it happened. Those seven words that never fail to amuse and astound us: “I didn’t know your company offered that!”

Why is everyone so astonished? Have we all pigeonholed each other into tiny boxes labeled with our day jobs and Netflix preferences? Maybe it’s time we acknowledged that people are like onions with many layers. Yes, Brad from accounting can both audit finances and play the drums. And Susan from HR might just be a black belt in karate. And, printing companies can offer printing, customer portals and promotional products.

The Business Card Brouhaha

Picture this: a customer walks in to pick up their business cards. They marvel at the crispness, the vibrant colors, and then they see it—a branded pen we’re using at the counter. “Wait, you guys do promotional products too? I thought you only did printing!” Well, buckle up, my friend. We’re like the Willy Wonka of the print world, and promotional products are our golden tickets.

The Swag Bag Surprise

We’re at a trade show, showing off our latest print capabilities. Someone notices our booth swag—custom tote bags, branded water bottles, even car coasters with logoes. “Hold on, you make these too? We thought you were just about business cards and posters!” Yes, indeed. Because why stop at just printing when you can also help companies bring their brand to life?

Beyond the Paper

Why the shock, you ask? Perhaps because people love to pigeonhole businesses into neat little boxes. But here at MEDiAHEAD, we believe in breaking out of the box—literally and figuratively and we like to print on that box! Sure, we’re masters of ink and paper, but why stop there when we can also help you leave a lasting impression with promotional products?

So, next time someone says, “I didn’t know your printing company offered that!” just grin and say, “There’s a lot more where that came from.” Who knows? Maybe they’ll start seeing us not just as printers but as purveyors of  promotional magic.

In the meantime, keep surprising them, keep innovating, and keep turning those puzzled exclamations into opportunities. Because if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that in the world of business, a little surprise goes a long way—and a branded pen even further.
